Each year the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, both located in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO fund several scholarships for students involved in the rodeo and western community. Some of the scholarships are offered through the National Little Britches Rodeo Association, while others are through the National High School Rodeo Association. This year, the PRCA has added two additional scholarships that they will be funding through the National High School Rodeo Association. These two new scholarships will be awarded to two individuals that most value the traditions and legacy in which the PRCA stands for.
The ideal candidates plan to join the PRCA, chase the gold buckle and become an ambassador for the sport of rodeo. These scholarships will require you to meet all NHSR Foundations requirements, on top of competing in a PRCA sanctioned discipline and must be competing in NIRA on a collegiate team. The application for these scholarships is a little different this year in that the PRCA will require a 2-3-minute video submission along with all other requirements. Also, this year will be the first year that the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame will require an essay to be submitted in order to be eligible for their Western Heritage scholarship. Upcoming seniors, don’t forget about these awesome scholarship opportunities when thinking about your future education plans!
